LAW CLUBS TO ARGUE TONIGHT

Root and Thayer Clubs Second Year Series in Ames Competition

The first of the four Second Year Law cases in the elimination round that decides qualification for the third year round of the Ames Competition will be argued at 8 o'clock this evening in Austin North. The Root Club will represent the plaintiff; and the Thayer Club will plead for the defendant in an imaginary case for an injunction.

The Root Club will be represented by J. H. Merrick 2L. and D. H. Starks 2L., while the Thayer Club has chosen C. C. Cabot 2L. and Nathaniel Thayer 2L. to do its arguing at the bar. Professor J. H. Beale will sit in the Judge's chair, with Joseph Connelly and R. C. Curtis '16 as his Associate Justices.

In making the decision the judges consider four points: structure of brief, value of authorities cited, presentation of arguments, and general ability shown in answering the questions put by the court during the argument. Each of the judges awards one point for each of the Ames points enumerated above, though in extreme cases a judge may split a point between counsel.
