The University fencers disposed of the New York University foilsmen with little difficulty Saturday by the score of 7 to 2.
E. H. Lane '24, E. L. Lane '24, and Roland Fleer '24, the regular Crimson trio, won two bouts apiece and retired in favor of substitutes. Of these only Howard Finney '26 was successful. A. G. Carrillo '26 and Lendon Snedeker '25 barely lost by 5-4 and 5-3 scores respectively. In his final bout E. H. Lane was painfully but not seriously injured. He will be able to take his regular place in the line-up Saturday in the triangular meet with Pennsylvania and Columbia.
Riccobene made the best showing for the New York team. Csernyak, acclaimed as fencing champion of Austria, gave a most disappointing exhibition.
In the epee bouts the Crimson swordsmen were forced to be content with a 2 to 2 tie, although F. W. Saunders '24 won both of his bouts.
