Dartmouth rounded out her gala carnival period by outscoring the Crimson basketball team 34 to 25 Saturday. The University five, however, looked better in defeat than it has in several of its victories, and on the whole the team's showing augured well for the crucial battle with Yale next Friday.
In the first half the Crimson five showed its fighting qualities by making up an early 10-point deficit and taking the lead. At half-time the Green was trailing 16 to 15. Until the second period was about half spent it was decidedly anybody's game. Then Edwards, Dartmouth's tall center, broke loose and the Hanoverians stepped out in front, never again to be headed.
As a final test before the Yale game the University players encounter Pennsylvania Wednesday evening.
