Now the fact is that one can find among the 44,000 living Harvard men, individuals of every conceivable type and tendency. They are of all degrees of intellectuality, high and low. We know some of them whose English will never incur criticism by reason of its Shakespearian qualities. Harvard graduates, like those of other universities, run the whole gamut of civilized mankind. We have never seen any real indication that one type predominates over a thousand others. The typical Harvard man and the Harvard manner are both of them a myth.
