This evening in Harvard Hall the semi-final round of the inter-class debate series will be held. The subject for the debates, which will start simultaneously in Harvard 5 and Harvard 6 at 7 o'clock this evening, will be, "Resolved: That hazing should be sanctioned at Harvard".
This subject has provoked a good deal of interest since the Freshman Discussion Club first debated it about a month ago. At that time several dailies commented on the overwhelming vote by which the Freshmen showed themselves in favor of a revival of the custom. Last week one of the New York papers contained a long article on the same subject. Hazing was chosen as the subject for the interclass debates because of this evident interest in it.
Tonight the Freshman A team, composed of E. A. Wieser '28, W. F. Stafford '28 and C. R. Atwell '28 will support the affirmative of the question against the negative Freshman B team, the members of which are K. M. Bryan '28, H. W. Bucklen '28, and E. C. Sibley '28. The other debate of the semi-final round will be between the Sophomore and Junior teams. The Junior team which will take the affirmative is made up of A. L. Nathanson '26, A. G. King '26, and W. C. McForran '26. Their opponents will be the following speakers from the Sophomore class: J. F. Davidson '27, C. H. Whitney '27, and O. S. Slaff '27.
