Princeton rightly ranks as a favorite over Yale this afternoon, but to this observer, who has, incidentally, been thrown for a loss by Old Man Dope many times this fall, it seems likely that, Yale may come through and win by a hair's breadth, or even less.
This prediction is in no way a cry of "sour Grapes" over last week's tidal wave. It is no disparagement of Princeton's undoubted power. If the Tigers play as they did in the Stadium, Yale cannot hope to prevail, but must trail by a two-touchdown margin at least. The chances are, however, in the light of past football history, that the Jungaleers reached their peak last Saturday and cannot maintain the breakneck pace they set in the Stadium.
Yale Going Up Not Down
Yale, on the other hand, has come along slowly. It has kept out of the defeated column only by last ditch fighting and some fortunate breaks. A constant improvement has been shown, however, and there is everything in favor of the Elis' playing the game of their lives today. They will need to if they hope to win.
Dartmouth ought to beat Cornell, although Coach Dobie has been pointing all season to the battle with the Green. Dartmouth has too much all around power not to be made a favorite, but a Cornell victory would not be a very startling upset.
Undefeated Penn Faces Penn State
Pennsylvania has another hard battle on its hands with Penn State, but its great defense ought to be equal to the task. Penn is undefeated and is in no mood to have its record marred by a defeat from the Nittany Lions.
Army and Williams should beat Columbia and Amherst, respectively, with something to spare. Columbia is, however, apparently getting back into its stride and may be troublesome. If Clement is unable to play, Williams may be pressed hard to win, but on paper the conquerors of Cornell have a distinct edge.
Boston College ought to beat Centenary with more or less ease, despite the publicity gained by "Bo" McMillan's team. It is apparently not realized that McMillan is coaching, not playing. A McMillan coached team is a drawing card which will probably nearly fill Braves Field, but the spectators will probably see the Eagle fly high once more. If Darling is absnt, however, the Eagle fliers may need a parachute.
