When the Harvard team takes the field this afternoon, there will be no lack of volleyed thunder to meet them,
For the first time in many years the spectators at the opening game of the season will have organized singing, accompanied by the University Band.
Alden Briggs '25, tennis star and President of the Harvard Glee Club, has been chosen to lead the songs. If all goes well, the Band will appear on the field, unless their uniforms, ordered some time ago, fail to be delivered in time.
S. B. Kelley '25, Captain of the crew, will be Head cheer-leader. Other cheer-leaders will be Jefferson Fletcher '25, Clark Hodder '25, and J. E. Toulman '25. A new system of signals for cheers will be inaugurated this year, which will be explained on the field.
The following songs will be sung:
HARVARDIANA
With the Crimson in triumph flashing Mid the strains of victory,
Poor Eli's hopes we are dashing Into blue obscurity.
Resistless the team sweeps goalward Mid the fury of the blast;
We'll fight for the name of Harvard
"Til the last white line is past,
Harvard! Harvard! Harvard!
Harvard! Harvard! Harvard!
Harvard! Harvard! Harvard!
