In Symphony Hall this afternoon and tomorrow evening, the second pair of concerts of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Serge Koussevitzky conducting. The program: Haendel, Concerto Grosso in D minor; Debussy, Dance (Orchestrated by Ravel); De Falla, "El Amor Brujo", and Beethoven, Symphony No. 5.
Saturday afternoon in Symphony Hall Alma Gluck, well known contralto, will make her first Boston appearance of the season. Her program embraces "Classics" interspersed with selections in the more "popular" mood.
In Symphony Hall Sunday afternoon and Tuesday evening John McCormack will give two concerts. His programs will include popular pieces of the day and eighteenth century airs.
Tuesday evening in Jordan Hall a concert of pieces for the piano by Felix Fox, one of the best of local pianists.
Friday afternoon and Saturday evening, in Symphony Hall, the third pair of concerts by the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Sunday afternoon, October 26, in Symphony Hall, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra will give the first concert of the Steinert series. The program includes Strauss's "Salome's Dance" and "Til Eulenspiegel", Beethoven's "Eroica" Symphony and a Pianoforte Concerto by Tschaikowsky with Yolanda Mero playing the solo part. Mr. van Hoogstrater will conduct.
