SMITH DOES NOT REGRET LOSING COLLEGE EDUCATION

Alfred E. Smith, Governor of New York State, does not seem to think that a college education would have helped him any.

While discussing the subject with several other men of influence in political circles he stated that he wanted his children to be sure and have a good college education. He said this was most important, but that his case was not the same.

"If I had gone to Harvard," he said, "it might have been a wonderful help to me, but on the other hand I might have come cut an awful sap."
