It is good to see my old friend, Mr. M. S. Goldman, entering the lists of ecclesiastical controversy with as much enthusiasm at Cambridge, as he did when we first met at Paris. But it seems to me now as then that if he would distinguish the case of High Protestant Episcopalianism from that of any other hard-shell Protestant sect. he must offer some more positive test of Christian truth than he does in his letter of October 8. So far as a mere lay-man can determine, it is no more reasonable to accept the Nicene Creed on his word, than it is to accept the Book of Genesis on Dr. Stratton's. Summerfield Baldwin '17.
