Four class debating teams have been chosen to compete for the University championship as a result of trials held last night in which 30 men contested. Two of these four teams, however, consist of Freshmen, due to the absence of any Junior candidates.
Each team, at present, contains four men. Immediately after mid-years will come preliminary debates for the purpose of choosing the three men who will comprise the final personnel of the teams.
The following were retained: Seniors, W. T. Howe, J. S. Kaufman, R. M. Morrison, and A. C. Poletti; Sophomores, C. C. Craig, T. E. Finley, A. G. King, and W. C. McFerron; Freshmen, Team 1. D. W. Chapman, J. R. Cherry, D. L. Dickson, and F. J. Otis; Freshmen, Team 2, 1. J. Fain. C. H. Johnston, L. S. King, and W. D. Morton.
