Mr. Philip W. Thayer '14, a former Advocate Editor, acting in an official capacity for the Harvard Club of Singapore, has just offered a prize for the most striking article of the year in the Harvard Advocate. The prize, which will be $300 in cash, or a medal plus $90, will be awarded annually.
The judges will be prominent literary men including graduate members of the Advocate. All stories, essays, poems, articles, plays, and editorials are eligible for the prize. Literary merit will be a strong factor in making the decision, though the adjective "striking" must apply strongly to the article. The winner does not have to be an editor or candidate of the Advocate.
