At 10.45 o'clock tonight the Crimson crew squad, consisting of the Junior and third University eights, two substitutes, and three scullers, will leave with Coaches Brown and Wachter, and Manager Baldwin for Philadelphia, where tomorrow it will take part in the American Henley. The shells which the men will use were shipped ahead yesterday and will be ready for the University oarsmen when they arrive at the Philadelphia Barge Club, their headquarters while in Philadelphia.
After trying out several different combinations in his Freshman crew, which was shaken up by the illness of Kent Leavitt, number 7 man, Coach Bert Haines yesterday announced the final seating of the boat which will row Cornell tomorrow. For the race, E. C. Gates, who has been rowing at number 5 will move up to number 7, while Robert Winthrop will come from number 3 on the second boat to take the number 5 oar.
Yesterday the Cornell crews arrived in Cambridge about noon, and after a short rest went to the Weld boat house, where their shells, which had preceded them, were ready for use. About 5 o'clock Coach Hoyle took both of his eights out for an easy row, and plans to do the same again this morning and this afternoon.
At the dinner of the 150-pound crews held in the Varsity Club Saturday night after the race, Henry Kimball Prince '24, of Short Hills, N. J., was elected captain of the University 150-pound boat for next year.
