Sigma Xi, an American society for the promotion of research, has announced several fellowships of a minimum value of $1200 to be awarded on May 18 to advanced students in Physics, Chemistry, Medical Sciences, Psychology, and various other fields. Although preference for these awards will be given to students who have already taken their doctor's degree, any man or woman who has done advanced research work is eligible.
Applications for the prizes will be received until May 15, but only those will be considered which include reprints of the applicant's published work, letters from men competent to pronounce upon the ability of the candidate, a statement of the work which the student proposes to do on the award and of the place where it-will be done. All inquiries and applications for the fellowships may be addressed to Dean Edward Ellery, Union College, Schenectady, New York.
