PROFESSOR J. E. WOLFF TO RETIRE

Has Resigned Position as Professor in Department of Geology

Professor John Eliot Wolff '79 of the department of geology at the University will retire from active teaching next summer. He has resigned his position as professor of petrography and mineralogy and curator of the mineralogical museum, his resignation to take effect on September 1, and on that date he will assume the title of professor emeritus.

Professor Wolff began his teaching service at the University in 1881, nearly 42 years ago, studied a year in Germany, was for some years an assistant geologist with the U. S. Geological Survey, and has taught at the University since, 1887.
