Ten Freshmen were retained last evening at Harvard Hall in the most successful debating trials held this year. About twenty men appeared at the trials, and three more who reported to Coach Philip Walker '25 their inability to be present were provisionally retained.
Tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in Emerson D the final eliminations will be held. Each man at this time will have prepared a 10 minute speech outlining the entire affirmative or negative case, depending on the one to which he was assigned. The men retained and assigned to the affirmative of the question were H. C. Davidson, A. S. Keller, P. G. Kirk, M. A. Kramer, R. W. Lishman, and J. W. Perkins; those retained and assigned to the negative: P. M. Fekulo, A. M. Hart. A. D. Philips, V. H. Rowe, G. Staff, W. S. Stone, and F. S. Tupper. H. C. Davidson, M. A. Kramer, and V. H. Rowe were provisionally retained.
The question as it now reads is "Resolved: that the United States should act with its former Allies in revising the Versailles Treaty". The wording, however, will soon be definitely fixed by Yale.
