Competition for the two Sears' Prizes of $100 and $25 for the best discussion of the subject "Do the Public Schools Really Educate the People?" will take place tomorrow from 10 to 12 o'clock in the morning and from 3 to 5 o'clock in the afternoon in Sanders Theatre. Mr. Richard Sears '91 has offered these prizes for the past two years. The competition is open only to those undergraduates in the University who have already applied for admission to the contest. About 30 minutes will be allowed for each contestant to deliver his speech.
The judges will be Professor H. W. Holmes '03, Dean of the Graduate School of Education; Professor A. F. Payne of the University of Minnesota; and Professor G. H. Smith of the University of Oklahoma. The meeting will be open to the public.
