To the Editor of the CRIMSON:
According to the Boston Herald (April 8, 1923), a Harvard professor recently made the following statement: "One difficulty is that few persons know what they are trying to do, in fact 9 out of every 10 students work without knowing why they are doing the particular task set."
If such is the case, whose fault is it? Some people think that most students are too lazy or too indifferent to "dig" for knowledge. Perhaps there would be less indifference if the instructors were obliged--as are the students to "make good or get out." THOMAS C. HOWARD '25 April 9, 1923.
