SIX CREWS HAVE FIRST OUTDOOR WORK YESTERDAY

Crews Row Total of Two Miles Between Anderson and Western Avenue Bridges--Work-Out Very Satisfactory

Because of the opening up of the Charles River below the Anderson bridge, six crews were able yesterday to get out on the water for their first outdoor trials. The rowing was restricted to the distance between the Anderson and Western Avenue bridges, but each crew rowed a total of about two miles.

The crews which went on the river were two 150-pound crews from the Newell boat house, Combination one and '25 one, and four Freshman eights, the first and third Autumn crew material, the first experienced football material, and the first inexperienced football material. The work of all the crews was extremely satisfactory in view of the new conditions under which they were rowing. Bert Haines coached the Freshman crews, following them in a single.
