Two plays of the repertoire of La Comedie Francaise will be given by the students of the Berlits School at the Copley Plann on Friday night. The proceeds of the plays will go to the Committee on Devastated France. "L'Anglais Tel Qu' On le Parle" is one of the plays which will be represented. In it Miss Helen Marsh will be the heroine in the role of a young English lady, the supporting cast including Mr. Henry Lawson, Mr. Mark Polonsky, and Mr. Walter T. Littlefield. Mr. du Gord, who a few years ago played at La Comedie Francaise in Paris with Cecile Sorel, will play the part of the interpreter. The second play is titled "La Paix Chez Soi", and this will be its first presentation in Boston. Miss Suzanne Lambert and Mr. C. R. Codman II '15 will head the cast.
Mrs. Codman, Mrs. R. W. Lovett, Mrs. L. E. Higgins, and Mr. Allan Forbes '97 are among the members of the Committee for Devastated France who have aided in the production of the plays.
The recent adventure of the Idler Club of Radcliffe into the fields of conversational farce proved highly successful. It was interesting to those interested in the theatre because it brought for the first time on the American stage Pirandello's "It's So If You Think It's So". And the performance was one of merit. Especially well handled were the parts played by Miss Middleton and Miss Woodworth. Pirandello, whose "Six Characters in Search of an Author" has been a great success for the past New York season, is seen here toying with a charming idea in the form of an elaborate, mechanical, but amusing farce.
