ANNOUNCE NOMINEES TO BOARD OF OVERSEERS

committee held three meetings and finally made their selection of fifteen names, seeking to secure a list with a representative distribution among professions and occupations, and also as wide a geographical distribution as is practicable for candidates for a working Board that meets in Cambridge some ten times a year.

The list of candidates as finally decided upon includes two men from the Boston district, three from other parts of New England, five from the New York district, and one each from Pittsburgh, Washington, Virginia, the Chicago district, and San Francisco. Professionally, the list includes three bankers; a physician and a surgeon; two heads of educational institutions, one of whom is a clergyman; a merchant, a manufacturer, and a trustee; a government official; a judge, a lawyer, a mining engineer, and an art director.

Only One Postal Ballot

This year there will be only one postal ballot for election of Overseers. Additional nominations may be made up to April 1 by certificate signed by at least 200 graduates eligible to vote. According to the present rules, holders of the degree of Master of Arts and of honorary degrees are entitled to vote immediately upon receiving their degrees; holders of all other degrees are entitled to vote at the fifth annual election after they have received their degrees. The names of any candidates thus nominated will appear on the official ballot with those of the fifteen candidates named above. This ballot will be sent to all graduates eligible to vote, and they may take their choice between voting by mail and voting in person at Cambridge on Commencement Day.

Will Each serve for six Years

The five Overseers elected will each serve a six-year term, taking the places of Judge F. J. Swayze '79, General Leonard wood '84, Colonel Arthur Woods '92, Mr. J. D. Greene '96, and Mr. F. D. Roosevelt '04, whose terms expire on Commencement day.

Nine men were nominated for the three vacancies which will occur in the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association. The nine candidates are Mr. H. S. Wardner '88 of New York, lawyer; Mr. C. S. Pierce '95 of Milton, lawyer; Mr. E. p. Davis '99 of Saint Paul, Minnesota, banker; Mr. Edward Mallinckrodt Jr. '00 of Saint Louis, chemist; Mr. H. L. Shattuck '01 of Boston, lawyer; Mr. A. A. Ballantine '04 of New York, lawyer; Mr. Sidney Withington '06 of New Haven, electrical engineer; Mr. A. G. Cable '09 of Chicago, banker; Mr. Leverett Saltonstall '14 of Brookline, lawyer.
