The Freshman basketball squad played its first full practice game of the season yesterday. Team A defeated Team B by the score of 28 to 18. There has been a short scrimmage every day this week, but yesterday's workout was the most strenuous so far. Two 15-minute halves were played.

Team A lined up with Leekley and Phelps, forwards; Malick, center; McCrum and Hesse, guards. Lightbourn replaced Hesse in the second half. Leekley was the most brilliant player on the floor. He led both teams in scoring with six goals to his credit. Team B had Carden and Thomas at forward, De Ravignon at center, and Teran and Linn at guard. Late in the game Carden was injured slightly and he retired in favor of Williams. The all-around game of Thomas was the feature of the losers' play.

In general, the offense of both teams was rugged. Neither was able to maintain a sustained attack. The defense, however, was much better than it has been in the earlier scrimmages. Both line-ups showed guards of considerable defensive ability, but they failed to measure up to the standard of offensive play which a four-man attack requires of them.

The development of the team has been considerably retarded by the loss of several players on account of studies. Coach Chase must develop new men to make up these losses and must begin anew his drill on teamwork.
