COMING CONCERTS

Tomorrow afternoon, November 4, four concerts compete for patronage:

In Symphony Hall, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra will play a program which includes the Tschaikowski Pathetic Symphony, and the second Chopin concerto. Mr. van Hoogstraten will conduct.

At the St. James Theatre, the People's Symphony orchestra, under Emil Mollenhauer will open its season, playing Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

At the Opera House, Mme. Galli-Curei will perform.

At the Boston Art Club, under the auspices of the Flute Players' Club, the Burgin String Quarter with Mr. Laurent will give a recital of chamber music.

Starting Monday, the San Cario Opera company will appear at the Opera House. The repertory for the first week follows:

Monday.--Rigoletto Verdi

Tuesday.--Tosca Puccini

Wednesday Matinee.--Martha Flautow

Wednesday Evening.--Alda Verdi

Thursday.--Madame Butterfly Puccini

Friday.--Jewels of the Madonna Wolf-Ferrari

Saturday Matinee--Carmen Bizet

Saturday Evening--Trovatore Verdi

Wednesday evening, November 7, Frederic Briston, pianist, will play, in Jordan Hall, a program on which stands the Prelude, Chorale, and Fugue of Cesar Franck.
