Many students on probation have recently been surprised to hear that they are not going to be allowed to cut Saturday classes to go to the Princeton game next week. Inquiry at the College Office has brought the news that the general cut declared the Saturday of the Yale game last year was meant to cover that game and no other. The ruling last year was passed by the faculty, with considerable opposition, under the definite understanding that it was to be merely an experiment, and was to apply to Yale games and Yale games only. The reason given then for allowing it at all was that the office was so flooded with requests for leaves of absence that it was simpler to handle the matter in that way, and that the Yale game, being in itself a unique institution, justified such action on the part of the college. The exception was not extended to the Princeton game and it has been learned that there has not even been any discussion this year as to the possibility of such an intention.
