UNION TENNIS TOURNEY NEARS CONCLUSION OF FIFTH ROUND

Semi-Finals Will be Held Tomorrow on the Divinity Field Courts

A singles match of more than usual interest in the Union tennis tournament will be the match between Bondi and Harrington in the fifth round of the tournament at 3.30 o'clock today on the Divinity Courts. Harrington yesterday earned the right to play Bondi by defeating Shapiro 6.3, 6.4.

Other singles winners yesterday were Cummings, who defeated Randler 6.3, 6.4 and Upjohn who caused an upset by defeating Martin, 6.4, 7.5.

Manning and Martin caused Stralem and Dixon some trouble in the first set yesterday but they finally lost to the latter foam 7.5, which took the second set more easily, 6.2, Upjohn and Roois can through Craig and Merian 6.2, 6.2 while Allen and Perkins defeated Swarts and Bloomberg, 6.3, 6.4.

The Union singles will get into the semi-finals on the Divinity Courts tomorrow it is hoped. The doubles will net reach this stage for some time.
