CHASE STAR AS SECONDS DEFEAT LOWELL TEXTILE

NICHOLS AND PRATT ALSO SHOW UP WELL IN BACKFIELD

Two touchdowns, unassisted, was the unique record made by P. W. Chase '25 in a football game in which the Second team trounced Lowell Textile 46-0 yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field.

Chase's first touchdown came early in the game, when he rushed in and blocked a punt on Harvard's 40-yard line. Instead of batting the ball to the ground, he caught it cleanly in his arms and ran it 60 yards for a touchdown.

Harvard's kickoff at the start of the second half gave Chase his second opportunity to score. Racing down the field under the long high kickoff, he fell on the ball just as it bounded over the Lowell goal line.

In the backfield, Nichols accounted for two more touchdowns by his steady bucks through the line. Pratt, although he contributed but one touchdown, did some sensational broken field running and some excellent punting.

After their regular tussles with Coach Fisher's first string teams, the Lowell team must have seemed light and disorganized to the second team. But for its first game of the season, the scrubs played surprisingly aggressive and able football.
