ENTRIES CLOSE TOMORROW

Union Tennis Tournament Will Get Under Way Monday

Entries for the Union Tennis Tournament will close tomorrow evening at five o'clock, it was announced last night. The draw will be made and the seeding will be done on Sunday by Coach H. C. Cowles, Tennis Manager Harry Eldridge '24, and Donald Stralem '24, who is managing the tournament. It possible, the draw will be posted Sunday night, so that any man whose match conflicts with his college schedule may report at the Union Monday morning and sign up on the bulletin board, stating in full his reason for not playing and also the times when he will be able to play. All men who have not yet put down their available hours on the sheet on the bulletin board are expected to do so at once.

The Union will supply balls for the players in the semi-finals and final rounds, but all other contestants must supply their own. A default will be declared within the usual 20-minute time allowance. Matches will be played on a basis of two out of three sets, except the finals, which will be three out of five. Courts will be reserved on Jarvis field for those entered, who will be assigned to courts on reporting at the ground keeper's house.

The cups and medals to be given the winners and runners-up are now on exhibition at the Union news stand. At present 75 men have signed up for the singles, which begin Monday, and 30 men for the doubles, which are scheduled to start on Thursday, October 18.
