The Union Library now contains over 15,000 volumes. In addition 75 magazines and 33 daily papers from cities all over the United States have been placed in the Union Reading Room by the Library Committee. In the collection are periodicals from many foreign cities placed there for the convenience of the foreign students.
The library was started by generous presentations of books and funds and since its establishment an average of over a book a day has been added. In making the selections the Library committee has not attempted to compete with any of the University libraries, but has aimed to supply men who wish to read for pleasure. A fund is at its disposal for the purchase of modern books of literary value.

Professor G. H. Chase '96, Chairman: Professor C. T. Coplenad '82, Professor R. K. Hack, Mr. J. J. Williams '20, Mr. Bryant Prescott '21, Mr. F. W. MacVeagh 2L, H. S. Morgan '23, H. F. Potter '24, Mr. M. E. Lord, secretary and librarian.
