At 10 o'clock the Senior class, in caps and gowns, were drawn up by their marshals in two lines, one on each side of the path leading from University Hall to Sever Quadrangle. Immediately after this the academic procession formed opposite Harvard and Massachusetts Halls and marched past University Hall and so between the lines of Seniors along the path to the Sever Quadrangle. President Lowell and the University Marshal headed the procession, while Mayor James M. Curley of Boston and Governor Channing H. Cox were among those who marched. Former recipients of honorary degrees from the University, alumni from the class of 1855 to classes of recent years, and members of the Board of Overseers were also in the procession. Mr. William whiting Richards '55 led the alumni who marching in order of seniority, closed the procession.

After John H. Fairbairn Country, had called the Commencement Exercises to order, the Reverend E. C. Moute led the assembly in player. Following the singing by the University chair of the "Ave Verum" of Deppres., John Warren '96, University Marshal, read in order the titles of the various Commencement parts. Benjamin Franklin Jones '22 of Atlanta, Ga., opened the speaking program by delivering the undergraduate Latin part.
