Coach Bingham put his Crimson track men yesterday afternoon through the last hard work-out before the Tiger meet in the Palmer Stadium, Princeton, Saturday. Time trials were run in every race except the two-mile. Coach Bingham, however, will not announce the final list of men making the trip until after today's practice. The squad will leave for New York on the 10 o'clock train tomorrow, will spend the night at the Hotel Pennsylvania, and go on to Princeton Saturday morning.
The 100-yard dash and hurdle trials yesterday were combined with the W. R. Mansfield '07 Cup competition and Garcelon prizes respectively. The former trophy was won by Evans, who nosed out de Rham in the final heat by less than a yard. Wansker was third.
The 75-yard high hurdle race for the Garcelon prize was captured by Fletcher, Clark being second. In the 160-yard low hurdles Hull took first place by five yards over Barker.
Colt won the 440-yard dash trials by a yard over Howe, who finished the same distance ahead of Curtis. Coach Brigham put Newhall and McCarthy, his two mainstays in the half-mile excluding Burke, through a 660-yard race, Newhall led until the final straightaway when McCarthy started sprinting and finally finished three yards ahead. In the mile trials Lamont overtook Coolidge on the last corner, the latter finishing second with Sherburne coming in close on his heel for third place.
