The Freshman baseball team sent the Goddard Seminary nine down to a 7 to 4 defeat Saturday afternoon on the yearling diamond. Spalding, pitching his first regular game of the season for the Freshmen, performed consistently well throughout although the clean fielding of the infield aided him in several pinches.

The 1925 men started off with a rush in the opening inning, when Hodder singled and advanced to second as Hoffman hit sharply through short. Hammond reached first on a fielder's choice which caught Hodder at third. Samborski was safe at first, filling the bases, when the Goddard pitcher fumbled in pulling down his drive. Kerr singled, bringing in Hoffman for the initial score, and Doherty cleared the bases with his three-bagger. Two additional runs were tallied in the second, and Kerr and Doherty brought home the seventh tally in the fifth on successive doubles.

The visitors scored three runs in the third inning on three singles, and one in the next when Driscoll, who had walked, finally completed the circuit.
