The University Freshmen will meet the Exeter Academy basketball team this evening at Exeter, N. H. After the game, which will be held at 8 o'clock, the Freshmen will be the guests of the Academy for the night.
The schoolboys, fresh from a victory over the Yale Freshmen last Wednesday, will present the stiffest opposition that the yearlings have been called upon to face. Comparative scores with the Tufts Freshman team give added emphasis to the strength of the Academy quintet as the Crimson was fortunate to gain a 38-33 verdict over this team while Exeter swamped it by a 30-point margin.
Since the early season game, however, Coach Tolbert's men have showed a steady improvement, and yesterday in the scrimmage against the University, they displayed the best form of the year. Though defeated in two early season games, their record now stands, six victories out of eight games played, including wins over Andover and M. I. T. Freshmen.
In Clark, Lathrop, and Hatcher, the Red and Gray has a trio of veterans of last year's team who have been displaying an effective scoring ability throughout the season. They will encounter in the Freshman guards, A. W. Samborski and W. A. Morrison, a defence that has been the feature of the Crimson's play during the last two weeks. Captain Samborski was unable to participate in the light practice yesterday due to a cold, but he will start the game tonight.
