MOSES AND WADSWORTH TO SPEAK AT MEETING OF REPUBLICAN CLUB

ANNOUNCE PERSONNEL OF FOUR SUB-COMMITTEES

At 8 o'clock on Tuesday evening, October 10, the Republican Club of the University will hold its first open meeting of the year in the Union. Mr. Louis A. Coolidge '83, ex-Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, will preside, while Senators George H. Moses of New Hampshire and James W. Wadsworth Jr. of New York will be two of the principal speakers of the evening.

Senator Moses is one of the most forcible debaters in the Senate, although one of the younger men. Senator Wadsworth, on the other hand, has been politically prominent since 1905, when he first became a member of the New York Assembly. In 1908 he was a delegate to the Republican National Convention and since 1915 he has been a member of the United States Senate, where his term expires in 1927. Senator Wadsworth as chairman of the Military Affairs Committee, was principal author of the Army Reorganization Bill and was also prominent as a supporter of the Dye Embargo of the Tariff Act, which was opposed by Senator Moses. These men, as well as a possible third speaker, will be entertained before the meeting at a dinner given them at six o'clock in the Union. At this the new committee members of the club and a few special guests will be present.

The club will enroll new members during the course of the evening and membership cards will be sent those who sign up.

The sub-committees for the year are composed as follows:

Finance Committee: Boies Penrose '25, Chairman; G. T. Barker '23, C. B. Barnes '24, B. DeL. Nash '23, B. F. Rice-Bassett '25, G. E. Wadsworth '25.
