Smith Hall won the third game of the interdormitory football series by defeating Gore Hall 7 to 0 yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field. The score was made when F. W. Dorman of Smith intercepted a forward pass on the Smith tweaty-five yard line and ran the remaining length of the field for a touchdown.
Smith showed superior offensive power, due to her more powerful backfield, but seemed unable to score after having brought the ball almost to the Gore goal. They rushed the ball down the field three times to their opponents' nine-yard line, only to be held for downs.
This game puts Standish and Smith in a tie for temporary first place, each having won one game, while Gore has lost one and tied one. At present Standish seems to have a slight advantage over her opponents due to the superiority of her line, although in the backfield Smith Hall is probably the strongest.
The coaches of the three dormitory teams have been appointed and are: E. J. Macewan '25, Standish Hall; L. L. Hill '25, Gore Hall C. H. Davis '25, Smith Hall.
The interdormitory games are being watched by the Freshman coaches, and any man who demonstrates his ability will be given a chance on the first squad.
