The Freshman Debating Team, upholding the affirmative side of the question, "Resolved: That the Eighteenth Amendment to the Constitution be repealed", lost to the Brooklyn Boys' High School debaters by a score of 2 to 1 last Saturday. This is the first defeat that the yearlings have suffered, their first meet being a victory over Bulkeley School at New London.
The Freshman Debating Club will be organized tomorrow evening at a meeting of all men interested in the Smith Hall Common Room at 7.30. Officers will be elected and plans for the season will be outlined. During the year meetings will be held to discuss subjects of general interest. The club will not be for debaters alone but will be open to all men interested in discussion. It is the purpose of the club to mould the team that will face Yale and Princeton on April 28 from the best material in the class.
