Class Day week will begin with the Baccalaureate Sunday, when President Lowell will give the Baccalaureate Sermon in Appleton Chapel. As for all class functions, the Seniors will wear caps and gowns, and will march to the exercises. The procession will form in front of Holworthy Hall at 3.30 P.M. Sunday, and the exercises will begin at 4. Certain sections of the chapel will be reserved for outsiders who wish to attend. Following the service, which will be conducted by the Reverend Raymond Calkins '90, President and Mrs. Lowell will receive members of the Senior Class at their house on Quincy Street for tea between 4.45 and 6 o'clock.
The Senior Spread and dance will be held in Memorial Hall on the following evening, and will last from 8 until 1 o'clock.
One of the most important events of the week is the Senior Class Chapel Service at Appleton Chapel on Class Day morning. Professor George Herbert Palmer '64 has very kindly consented to preside at this exercise. The Seniors will form in front of Holworthy at 8.30 on Class Day morning, and will march to the Chapel. The services will begin at 9 o'clock, and will last for about 40 minutes. As usual, Seniors will wear caps and gowns.
Seniors to March to Sanders
The Class will form again at 10.30 to march to the exercises in Sanders Theatre, which begin at 11.00. The procession, lead by Stewart's Band, will march around the Yard before entering Sanders.
At 3.00 P.M. on Class Day afternoon, the Class will march from in front of Holworthy to the space between Harvard, Hollis, and Holden, where the Tree exercises will take place. After the Tree Orator has finished his speech, the Seniors will march around the Yard, cheering the various buildings, and then down to the Stadium, where the graduates will have already assembled.
Altogether, the Seniors march in five processions: to Chapel on Baccalaureate Sunday, to Chapel on Class Day, to Sanders Theatre on Class Day, to the Tree Exercises on Class Day, and to the Stadium on Class Day.
