EXETER NETMEN LEAD IN INTERSCHOLASTICS

New Hampshire School Has Enough Points to Be Sure of Championship--Has Two Men in Semi-Finals Which Start at 10 o'Clock Today

The opening rounds of the annual Interscholastic Tennis Tournament, played yesterday on Jarvis Field Courts, gave the Exeter net men enough victories in the individual matches to assure then the team championship. Of the four semi-finalists, two are Exonians and W. W. Ingraham of Exeter is expected to repeat his performance of last year and gain the individual championship.

Ingraham will meet Briggs of Brookline High School and Smith of Exeter will face Watson of Andover this morning at 10 o'clock on the Divinity Court to determine the entrants for the finals. The championship match will be played this afternoon at 2.30 on the Divinity Courts.

Most of the schoolboy matches yesterday went only two sets but some were extremely--close and hard fought. Lord of Andover was unexpectedly hard pressed by Perkins of Exeter but managed to gain an 11-9, 8-6 victory. In the qualifying round, which a few contestants had to survive, Pratt of Country Day nosed out Bell of Exeter after three hard 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Eleven schools, totalling forty-one entries, competed in the tournament. Besides those already mentioned, Boston Latin, Huntington, Allen School, Cushing Worcester Academy, Newton High School and Woonsocket High School entered men.
