SECOND SCRIMMAGE FOR SPRING FOOTBALL SQUAD

Fumble by Team B Back Results in Touchdown for A--Practice Short and Light, Due to Bad Weather--Dummy and Signal Practice Held

The University football men were given their second scrimmage yesterday, when Coach Knox had two line-ups opposing each other on Soldiers Field for a short, fifteen-minute session. Work started with the usual dummy and signal practice, W. H. Churchill '23 coaching the backs, and C. A. C. Eastman '22 taking charge of the line.

Towards the end of the afternoon teams A and B were sent on the field for a short scrimmage. Neither team gained much ground, and the cold weather made fumbling frequent. It was a fumble that was the cause of the only score. Early in the scrimmage W. V. Miller '23, playing defensive end for Team A, picked up the ball, fumbled by a Team B back, and ran eighty yards for a touchdown. After this, however, little was done in the way of offence, both teams resorting largely to a kicking game.

The teams lined up as follows: Miller, l.e.  r.e., Moorehead Saxton, l.t.  r.t., Robertson Wagner, l.g.  r.g., Short Post, c.  c., Gross Kiggin, r.g.  l.g., Murphy Woodworth, r.t.  l.t., Hamilton Key, Sprague, r.e.  l.e., Heishson Humphrey, q.b.  q.b., Pratt Giroux, l.h.b.  r.h.b., Coburn Wright, r.h.b.  l.h.b., Greene Pfaffman, f.b.  f.b., Hovey
