EXAMINATION FOR RICARDO PRIZE TO BE HELD APRIL 9

Candidates for Award in Economic and Political Sciences Must Submit Report of Past Work to Prof. T. N. Carver

The examination for the Ricardo Prize in economics and political science will be held this year on Saturday, April 9, from 1.30 to 4.30 in Widener U. The announcement of the Committee on the prize is as follows:

The Ricardo Prize of $350 for 1921-22 will be given to a person who is a member of Harvard University in 1920-21. The incumbent must be a Senior in the College or in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and must carry on his studies under the department of Economics. He must devote the major portion of his time to economic and political studies and must give special attention to the problems involved in the relation of the State to industrial enterprise.

Candidates must submit to Professor T. N. Carver not later than 12 o'clock on April 9, 1921, a statement of their previous studies, submitting also any written work done by them. They shall further present themselves at an examination to be held on Saturday, April 9, 1.30-4.30. Each candidate will be called on to write, in the examination room, an essay on a topic chosen from a list, not previously announced, of economic and political subjects. The award will be made, not later than June 15, on recommendation of the department, solely with regard to the ability and promise of the several candidates, and without regard to their pecuniary means.
