Samuel Gompers, President of the American Federation of Labor, will arrive in Boston tomorrow noon to give his speech in the Living Room of the Union on "The Case for the Closed Shop" at 8 o'clock.
He will be introduced by W. Z. Ripley, Professor of Political Economy and one of the country's foremost authorities on the labor situation, having had wide experience of both a practical and theoretical nature.
The Liberal Club, under whose auspices Mr. Gompers is to speak, announced yesterday that Henry J. Allen, Governor of Kansas and exponent of the Industrial Court System, would speak in the latter part of April on the same subject of the Open or Closed Shop, taking, however, the opposite side from that advocated by Mr. Gompers.
The meeting at the Union tomorrow evening is intended primarily for members of the Union, but ladies will be accommodated to the extent of the balcony.
