SACCO-VANZETTI CASE DISCUSSED TONIGHT

John S. Codman and Elizabeth G. Flynn to Speak at Union Under Auspices of Liberal Club--R. F. Foerster to Act as Chairman

John S. Codman '90, a Boston lawyer, and Elizabeth G. Flynn, an organizer of the Woman's Defense Union, will speak on the Sacco-Vanzetti Case in the Living Room of the Union at 8 o'clock tonight. The meeting, which is under the auspices of the Student Liberal Club, is open to all members of the Union.

Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti are Italians by birth, the former a shoe worker, the latter an eel seller, who were for many years aggressive in solidifying Italian workingmen in demands for higher wages. Both men were friends of Andrea Salredo, who last year plunged to his death from the 14th story of a building where he was confined by the Department of Justice. Two days after his death they both were arrested. They were connected with two hold-ups and sentenced; their supporters claim that they had nothing to do with the hold-ups, but were victims of the organized persecution of radicals carried on by the Department of Justice.

Mr. Codman, as Chairman of the New England Civil Liberties Committee, is in charge of the work in their defense. Miss Flynn has been addressing Meetings in behalf of the two Italians and was arrested in Philadelphia on March 6 for alleged "seditious utterances" in regard to their case.

The Liberal Club will give's Club Dinner in honor of the two speakers in the Trophy Room at 6.30.

R. F. Forester '06, Assistant Professor of Social Ethics at the University since 1913, and an authority on Sociological problems, will act as Chairman
