Today is the last day on which applications for the American-Scandinavian Foundation scholarships can be received. All applicants in the University must file their applications with Dean L. B. R. Briggs, 10 University Hall.
The American-Scandinavian Foundation will award some time in March twenty scholarships, bearing stipends of about $1000, ten of which are for study in Sweden, five for study in Denmark, and five for study in Norway. Applications for these scholarships are first passed upon by the Committee on General Scholarships, of which Dean Briggs is chairman. The Committee will rate the candidates in order of merit and forward their nominations to the Foundation, arranged in order of preference with the supporting papers of each candidate. By this method the Foundation hopes to be able to choose the men intelligently, since it will have the approval and rating of the College on the application of each man.
