Francis Boott Manuscripts Due

Today is the last day for handing in manuscripts for the Francis Boott prize of $100, awarded to the writer of the best composition in concerted vocal music. Any undergraduate of the University and any student in the graduate schools is free to compete. The composition must be for four or more voices, preferably of contrapuntal character, without solos, may be sacred or secular, and with or without accompaniment.

The prize will be awarded only in case a composition is submitted which, in the opinion of the judges, is worthy of it. The title page of each manuscript must be signed with a motto or an assumed name, the same also to be written on the envelope of a sealed letter in which is enclosed the real name of the competitor.

Manuscripts must be today in the hands of a member of the committee, consisting of Arthur Foote, George A. Burdett '81 and Frederick S. Converse '93. They should be delivered in person to Mr. Foote at 81 Greene street, Brookline.
