A sharp earthquake shock was registered yesterday morning at the Harvard Seismograph Station. Professor J. B. Woodworth, in charge of the station, reported at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon that according to his calculations the earthquake must have occurred at 22 minutes and 33 seconds past 8 Eastern Standard time yesterday morning, and at a distance of 2125 miles from the observatory, but it is impossible to tell the direction of the earthquake from Cambridge. It is probable, however, that it was to the southwest of here.
