ANDOVER OPPONENT OF 1924

GAME IN ANDOVER GYMNASIUM

UNIVERSITY 1924.  ANDOVER. Gordon, r.f.  l.g., Munger Stevens, l.f.  r.g., Allen Sipp, c.  c., Watson Black, r.g.  l.f., Riley Rudefsky, l.g.  r.f., Tillson

This afternoon the Freshman basketball quintet will go to Andover for their first game on a strange court. No practice was held yesterday, but on Thursday afternoon the 1924 quintet easily defeated an informal team of Law School men. The Freshman machine worked at top speed and has been doing very good work in the last few days.

Captain Gordon has been a dependable man in every way, and has led the scoring in all the games thus far. In passing and floorwork he also excells, and he is always good for several points from the foul line. J. H. Sipp at center, and D. H. Stevens, the other forward, have been working especially well with Captain Gordon, and the trio has developed a highly organized style of team play. In the back court Isadore Black and J. L. Rudofsky, have done very good work in breaking up the plays of opposing forwards besides acting now and then as a scoring combination on the offensive.

Andover is reputed to have a strong team, having won the majority of their games thus far, and showing much power. Captain Riley, their fast left forward, is a dangerous man on the offense, and his running mate, Tillson, is also to be reckoned with. These are the only veterans of the Blue squad, but they are ably supported by Watson at center and Munger and Allen at the guard positions.
