GLEE CLUB IN LENGTHY PROGRAM

In its concert last Thursday at Symphony Hall, the Glee Club sustained its unique reputation and demonstrated the same complete mastery of subject that has distinguished its previous performances. Mme. Frieda Hempel appeared as the soloist and was forced to give many encorcs, after rendering two groups of songs which included a wide selection. The audience showed its appreciation of the work of the Glee Club, and this in spite of the rather long program so characteristic of its concerts. It is difficult to determine whether this can be classed as a fault or not; it is perhaps more a tribute to the organization's performance that the audience does not protest at the lengthy presentation. Certainly the concert did not reflect the least abatement in the ambitious aims of the Glee Club and proved that the association is as versatile and accomplished as unanimous opinion maintains it to be
