Most Boston theatres are planning special matinees for Washington's Birthday next week. Keith's has scheduled three shows for that occasion, at 1 P. M., at 4.30, and at 8, respectively.
An elaborate screen production entitled "Kismet", featuring Otis Skinner, will take the place of Eddie Cantor and the "Midnight Rounders" at the Majestic Theatre next Monday evening.
"Jim Jam Jems", a "nocturnal frolie," according to advance notices, will displace "Love Birds" at the Wilbur on February 21. It comes to Boston direct from a five months run in New York.
Richard Bennett has the title role in Louis K. Anspacker's new comedy, "My Boy," which Sam H. Harris will present at the Tremont Theatre next week.
The Arlington Players will give "Uncle Tom's Cabin" for the week of February 21.
The producers of "The Bat", the spectacular New York success, have received offers for the foreign rights of the play from no less than nine nations,--England, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Cuba, Australia and South Africa.
