This evening at 8.15 o'clock on the main floor of the Hemenway Gymnasium, Coach Wachter will stage an exhibition game between two teams of his first squad to show the correct interpretation of the revised basketball rules for 1921-22. Since the success of basketball depends upon a thorough knowledge of the regulations on the part of all the players, the basketball management hopes that every one who is intending to play this year will be present at the game. Mr. Oswald Towers of the Rules Committee will be on hand to answer questions; Coach Wachter will demonstrate the changes in the rules between the halves; and Mr. D. J. Kelly of the Department of Physical Education will referee the game and explain the fouls as they occur. An especial attempt is being made by the committee in charge to have basketball officials attend the game so that in the future the refereeing of games will be done on as uniform a scale as possible.
Yesterday afternoon Coach Wachter sent his squad through a long practice workout laying special emphasis on the passing game. Frequent substitutions were made in all the quintets, team A at the beginning of practice lining up as follows: r.f., A. E. McLeish '23; l.f., Lewis Gordon '24; c., H. B. Tyson '23; r.b., H. E. Feiring '23; l.b., W. V. Miller '23.
R. W. Fitts '23, a last year's regular, who reported for the first time Wednesday, had an infected hand and was unable to take part in the workout. He will be back in the line-up, however, in time for the opening contest next Tuesday.
