MT. Howard Corning '90, of Bangor, Maine, has been elected President of the New England Federation of Harvard Clubs to Succeed Mr. N. Horton Batchelder '01, of Windsor, Conn. Mr. Corning is an officer of a railway and lighting company at Bangor, and has long been prominent in University affairs. During the war he was connected with the New England Division of the Red Cross and lived in Brookline, and later he had charge of the University Endowment Fund campaign in Maine.

Mr. Robert F. Duncan '12, of Boston, who as secretary of the Harvard Endowment Fund Committee took a leading part in the endowment campaign, has been chosen vice-president of the Federation, while Mr. Francis A. Harding '09, of Boston, is to be secretary and Mr. Richard B. Wigglesworth '12, of Milton, treasurer.

The new honorary vice-presidents include Mr. Stephen P. Cabot '92, of Newport, R. I., headmaster of Saint George's School; Mr. George S. Stevenson '03, of Hartford, Conn.; Mr. Luther Atwood '83, of Lynn; and Mr. Milton B. Warner, LL.B. '91, of Pittsfield.

Reports of committees submitted at the annual meeting of the New England Federation of Harvard Clubs show that during the past year the organization increased the stipend of its annual scholarship to $500 by doubling the dues levied on constituent clubs. By notifying 260 New England schools of this change and by simplifying the process of application for the scholarship, James Roger Shields '25, of East Jaffrey, N. H., was selected from among more than 50 applicants.

The Federation also presented book prizes in 26 New England schools to boys who had a distinguished record in scholarship and other school activities.
