PLANS FOR OBSERVANCE OF ARMISTICE DAY AT UNIVERSITY COMPLETED

INVITATION EXTENDED TO PUBLIC TO ATTEND EXERCISES

Plans for the observance of Armistice Day, which will be a holiday in all departments of the University, include a special memorial service in Appleton Chapel, open to the public, at 8.45 o'clock in the morning, and a salute fired on Soldiers Field at noon by a battery of the Field Artillery unit.

The Reverend Kenneth C. MacArthur '05; of the Old Cambridge Baptist Church, who is the chaplain of the Shannon Post of the American Legion, will be in charge of the Appleton Chapel service, which was arranged by the Shannon Post with the cooperation of the Harvard Memorial Society. Members of the University and the public are invited to attend.

In accordance with the suggestions for the observance of Armistice Day made by President Harding, Governor Cox, and other public authorities, the College bell will be tolled from 11.45 A. M. until noon, and flags at the University will be kept at half mast throughout the day.
